OmegaApp- Mod Squad
OmegaApp is the completely
fictional company that I have created to use this term or for at least this
project. OmegaApp is trying to make a name for its apps in a growing market of
apps for devices from the Kindle Fire to the new Iphones. The apps at OmegaApp
are created to enhance the user experience by adding simple but fun app
elements that can be useful to a wide range of users. The fictional app that my
team will be marketing for OmegaApp is PieAttack, which is an app that allows
the user of any smart phone or smart device with a touch screen to throw a pie
at a friend. Once the user sends/throws the pie at a friend their screen
becomes completely covered and they have to use their finger on the touch
screen to wipe it off as if it was really dirty.
In
order to take full advantage of the market and get as much coverage as possible
for my clients, OmegaApp, I will use the following marketing plan to set up and
publish the PieAttack app to the widest audience possible. First off I will
need to define my audience; the customer will be the most important part of
this process and will ultimately make or break the success of the overall
project.
The
next step is for me to list some ads and get some advertisement out for this
new app. I will make an effort across several sites and venues commonly
frequented by my target audience to take advantage of the most effective
marketing campaign. When I can get the app advertisement seen in several places
the visibility and retained message will be much stronger. Complementary sites
that I can help cross-promote to visitors, who will then see the PieAttack
there too, will provide excellent reinforcement of the message.
While
this is my first step, realistically I could better create the budget for
marketing if I knew the total costs involved in the project. As the project
manager I should already at least have an idea at this time what the price
range will be and probably already have a figure in mind of how much I should
spend. After creating the advertisements I will use and then getting the
advertisements up and running in the market I can then start to track and
document the success or failure of the results of the projects first run of
advertisements.
Hopefully, the results of the
marketing will come out as successful and the project will be deemed a total
success. In the next section I will layout and discuss the needs analysis for
this project. The needs analysis for this project will discuss four different
points to meet the requirements listed in rubric.
Needs
Analysis
The
problems to be solved in this needs analysis is how to accomplish the
development and marketing the new app PieAttack for the fictional company
OmegaApp-ModSquad.
As
project manager my team and I will be marketing this new app with the goal of
making OmegaApp and the new app successful. I will be introducing this app to
wide market with my main target group being teenage boys around age twelve to
young men around eighteen to twenty five.
I
can agree that networking can and will be a big part in this project as well as
any other project like it. Networking has become a major element in most things
involving information technology these days and it will only continue to grow
in the future. As for the reading for this unit I have hit a roadblock because
when I downloaded the e-book from doc sharing it only has lessons up to lesson
eight and I was unable to find lesson ten and with work and everything else I
have run out of time but I really feel that I was still able to produce a
strong project anyway.
